I believe this is the first watch made with a full slice of the moon as the dial. There was a prior one of a kind watch that used 2 tiny dots of the moon in the moonphase display, if you are curious what an $860,000 watch looks like, google the Louis Moinet Magistralis. This watch uses a full slice of the moon to span the entire dial and it is made from lunar meteorite NWA 6355. It is classified as a Lunar Melt-Matrix Minglet Breccia. A single complete stone of 760 grams was found in 2009 in Morocco. Less than half of it is publicly available. A clast-laden vitric breccia consisting of fine-grained mineral debris (pyroxene, olivine, anorthite) and sparse polycrystalline igneous clasts in a heterogeneous, "swirtly" glass matrix. There is a close similarity in bulk chemical composition between this lunar rock and Apollo 16 soils. This is one of the only instances where lunar meteorites can be correlated with materials at a specific landing site on the Moon. It was a humbling experience to hold a piece of the moon in your hands. "Bella Luna" is the second completely custom watch commissioned by Mr. Martin. It was also my privelage to construct a Martian Meteorite watch for him (see number 33 "Mars Aerolite").
