The Gibeon Meteorite was the first to prove that iron can fall from the sky. It was found in Namibia and samples were sent back to London by English captain J. E. Alexander in 1836. It was named after the nearest town: Gibeon, Namibia. Although it fell in prehistoric times, it is thought to be more than four and a half billion years old. This has a beautiful crystal structure that cannot be duplicated by man because it requires millions of years of slow cooling in zero gravity. Enjoy owning one of the oldest objects that can be collected on the planet...literally older than dirt.
